They have this figure, clearly derived from Dupuy: 

It is from page 389 of this book, which references Lemarchand (2010): (PDF) Communication among interstellar intelligent species. A search for universal cognitive maps (researchgate.net). Lemarchand is listed in the bibliography.

This is not a Dupuy chart but appears to be a redrawing of a Dupuy chart by Lemarchand.

Christopher A. Lawrence is a professional historian and military analyst. He is the Executive Director and President of The Dupuy Institute, an organization dedicated to scholarly research and objective analysis of historical data related to armed conflict and the resolution of armed conflict. His published works include papers and monographs for the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment and the Vietnam Veterans of American Foundation, in addition to over 40 articles written for limited-distribution newsletters and over 60 analytical reports prepared for the Defense Department. He is the author of Kursk: The Battle of Prokhorovka (Aberdeen Books, Sheridan, CO., 2015), America’s Modern Wars: Understanding Iraq, Afghanistan and Vietnam (Casemate Publishers, Philadelphia & Oxford, 2015), War by Numbers: Understanding Conventional Combat (Potomac Books, Lincoln, NE., 2017) and The Battle of Prokhorovka (Stackpole Books, Guilford, CT., 2019)

Mr. Lawrence lives in northern Virginia, near Washington, D.C., with his wife and son.

  1. I recognized it immediately. I thought you found another Dupuy citation. Wel, you did, if you ignore the plagiarism. I think TDI should take action.

    • Well, we do not own the rights to Trevor Dupuy’s books. Those are owned by the Dupuy family and managed by Dr. Arnold Dupuy.

      I have not taken the time to look at his book to see if Lemarchand actually gave credit to Dupuy or not. I assume he did, even though he stuck his name on the chart he redrew. He did add in some material, renamed some points, etc.
